Jordan Henderson had a huge task in taking over from Steven Gerrard as Liverpool captain in 2015.
The 27-year-old has not always had the full backing of the club’s fanbase, but last season he was part of an impressive campaign for the Reds.
The skipper guided the team to a top-four finish, as well as the Champions League final, which they ended up losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev.
Henderson’s position in the team has rarely come under questioning until now.
Manager Jurgen Klopp already has two new midfielders arriving this summer in the forms of Naby Keita and Fabinho.
According to The Guardian, Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir is also believed to be on his way in a deal costing around £53m.
Liverpool look set to be flooded with midfielders for the 2018-19 season, which has led some fans to wonder whether Henderson will lose his place in the team to accommodate the new faces.

Looking like an amazing #LFC side next season but I’m struggling to see where Henderson will fit. Maybe time for him to move on and make VVD captain.
