Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to question why Gini Wijnaldum isn't as effective going forward for them as he is for the Netherlands.

The former Newcastle man - who cost Liverpool £25m in 2016 - does tend to score more goals for his country than his club, having now netted four goals in his last four international outings.

In stark contrast, Wijnaldum scored just three Premier League goals in total throughout the entirety of last season.

The first of his two goals against Belarus on Sunday was a powerful header reminiscent of his effort against Barcelona last term, whereas his second strike was a real wonder-strike, nestling in the top-right corner from miles out.

Following his double, a number of the Reds supporters have been pondering why he cannot replicate his goal scoring prowess in a Liverpool shirt.
