According to reports in The Mirror, Everton are lining up an audacious £60m January bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Liverpool fans have been quick to have their say on the rumour involving their arch-rivals.

The Mirror says that new Toffees boss Sam Allardyce is hoping to bring the prolific centre-forward, who was also linked with the Reds last month.

The Gabon international has once again been in sensational goalscoring form for Dortmund this season, and he has a remarkable 19 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, including a brace in the 3-2 defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabeu during the week.

Liverpool supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the story, and while one described it as the "funniest thing I've seen for a while", another described Everton as "the club that keeps on giving".
