Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to some contract news, as Jurgen Klopp has reportedly changed his mind about the future of Divock Origi.
Not too long ago, Origi and Daniel Sturridge both looked destined for Anfield exits this summer.
According to a report from Sports Illustrated, both strikers were on the chopping block – Sturridge will be out of contract while Origi’s current deal ends in 2020, meaning this summer is the club’s last chance to get reasonable compensation for his departure.
However, a new report from Football Insider claims Klopp has been “blown away” by Origi’s attitude and work ethic and will now offer the youngster an extended deal.
Indeed, Origi was out in the cold earlier this season, but has come off the bench to make a positive impact on several occasions recently, and who could forget his derby day winner at the expense of Jordan Pickford?
Has Alisson been Liverpool’s most important signing of the season? Check out the video below to find out why Jurgen Klopp thinks so…
It appears Klopp has done a complete U-turn and the club can now strengthen elsewhere with a back-up striker already secure, but plenty of fans are taking issue with this.
Anfield has long been in need of a “super-sub” type who can take pressure off Roberto Firmino, and sacrificing that to re-sign Origi has caused some controversy.

instead of buying werner and Fekir we offer new contract to a players who only shine for couple of minutes. offer new contract to moreno and sturridge too and keep lallana and ask why don’t we win trophies

Don’t understand this! Origi prob a good lad but end of day he just not good enough & when young Brewster fully fit he wont get a game next season esp if we sign another striker like Werner or another in summer

Versatility, work rate and he has a different skillset to our main attackers.

Love it, he’s got the attitude that you need for a title winning team, he might not start a game all of next season but he’ll lift team spirits in the changing room and at Melwood.

Be happy with this ! Love his attitude and he’s still improving and for the little game time he has had to make a impact like he has done is a strong sign . I fully expect Sturridge to leave now

Tie him down to a new contract to get more money on a potential sale!! Smart business.

Shocking decision wouldn’t get anywhere the squads of the other top teams in Europe.
