Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to leap to the defence of their main man Mohamed Salah, after fans of other clubs claimed that the Egyptian dived in order to win a penalty against Brighton.
The Reds were struggling to break the Seagulls down before Pascal Gross pulled the 26-year-old’s arm back inside the box, prompting Salah to hit the deck.
It was a blatant foul, and one which allowed the former Roma star to score his 14th Premier League goal of the season from the spot.
However, despite Gross clearly upending the forward, fans of rival teams feel that Salah went down easily under little contact, which of course sparked fury from fans of the league leaders who are adamant that their star man is not a diver.
The win got Jurgen Klopp’s men back on track after two successive defeats, but Liverpool fans are not happy that Salah has been accused of cheating…
Cannot believe I’m listening to grown men discuss whether or not Salah went down easy. Such a dead conversation. It’s a foul 10 X out of 10. He’s dragged back and pulled down. Why are we fabricating stories to isolate individuals. #LFC

The way these idiotic rival fans are getting on – I actually want Salah to do the most savage dive ever on the last day of the season and get a pen that wins the Prem. Cannot believe im seeing stuff about LFC getting preferential penno treatment. It was 400 days without one!

Whoever thinks it was a dive by salah, needs to have their eyes checked out. 100% clear penalty.
But the crying comes from crying rival fans especially from the blue part of manchester #lfc

I find it absolutely incredible that there's even a debate about the Penalty today on Salah. Its as blatant as they come. The obsession by certain fans & pundits is baffling. 100% a Penalty. The end

Confused as to why all evening I have seen loads of people saying Salah dived on here, no dive 100% penalty and the reaction from the Brighton players show that they know it was a pen as well #LFC #BHAFC #MOTD
