Rafa Benitez is something of a legend at Liverpool.

He spent six years at Anfield, winning four trophies overall. Having overseen the incredible 2005 Champions League final, in which the Reds came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 and win the showpiece on penalties, he has written himself into the club's folklore.

He has had several jobs since then in the Premier League, including Chelsea and Newcastle, and with the likes of Arsenal and Everton needing a new boss, it is not impossible that he could make a return to these shores.

He was asked about whether he would move into the dugout at Goodison Park on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, and he refused to rule out making the switch, although that might not be in the immediate future.

Considering the Toffees are Liverpool's city rivals, the supporters are torn as to whether they would accept the 59-year-old moving there.

Some don't seem to have a problem with it.

Indeed, he hasn't been with Liverpool since 2010, so it is not as though he is making a direct transfer. There is plenty of water under the bridge and, with that Champions League victory in his back pocket, he can almost do no wrong.

There are others, though, who would not be happy to see him join the team across Stanley Park.

Some of those opinions on the subject seem a little harsh. But as we all know, fans can often be fickle, and for portions of the fanbase, his achievements with them would be forgotten if he were to hold up an Everton scarf.
