One of the heroes of Liverpool's Champions League triumph earlier this summer, Divock Origi's future at Anfield has always seemed to be uncertain at the best of times.

The Belgian international found himself back at Anfield last season following a year in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg, and etched himself into the club's folklore with the second goal against Tottenham last month.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested Origi could be on his way out of the club this summer with just one year left on his deal, but now, in an update from The Liverpool Echo, the Reds will reportedly resist any attempts to lure the striker away.

After hearing the 24-year-old will remain at Liverpool regardless of whether he signs a contract extension or not, fans of the Merseyside club took to Twitter to voice their opinion on the decision.

Despite seeing Origi play a big part in their Champions League victory, many Liverpool supporters urged the club to sell the striker now and not let him leave on a free transfer next summer.

Indeed, a few insisted that the Belgian was not of the required quality and questioned how they planned to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title with Origi as their main back-up forward.
