Fernando Torres instantly made himself a fan favourite at Liverpool when he signed from Atletico Madrid in 2007.
In his three-and-a-half-years at the Merseyside outfit, the Spaniard scored 81 goals in 142 appearances.
In January 2011, Torres ruined his relationship with Liverpool’s fanbase by moving to Chelsea in a shock £50m deal.
The striker left in search of silverware, and he managed to find it by winning the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with the boys in blue.
However, on an individual level he failed to set the world alight, scoring just 45 goals in 172 outings across a four-year spell.
The hate towards Torres from a number of Liverpool fans slowly dissipated due to his struggles at Stamford Bridge, and the majority were happy for the forward when he re-joined Atletico Madrid permanently in 2016.
On Wednesday night, the 34-year-old lifted another trophy as Atleti defeated Marseille 3-0 to win the Europa League final.
After the final whistle, Liverpool fans reflected on their relationship with Torres, and it seems that for some, all is forgiven.
