Liverpool fans are hoping the worst is behind them in the deal for Nabil Fekir, after the President of the French Football Federation (FFF) commented on the saga.
It’s been a pretty strange couple of days for Liverpool fans, as the deal for Lyon captain Fekir has gone from off to on and back off again several times.
The 24 year-old, who is currently on World Cup duty with France, is Jürgen Klopp’s number one target to replace Philippe Coutinho, and Liverpool fans were delighted when it appeared a deal was all said and done.
After some suspicions that a problem with the player’s knee was the issue, the French press reported on Friday evening that a financial issue is holding up the deal.
While no one is entirely sure what’s going on, the FFF president has weighed in this morning, and it’s good news for Liverpool fans.
“I saw him this morning for 15 minutes. He’s in the middle of negotiating, I think they will get it done,” said Noel Le Graet.
“He was confident about it because the medical he underwent was positive.”
La Graet’s comments quash any concerns that there was an issue with the medical, and seem to imply it’s only a matter of time before the deal is complete.
The saga for the French playmaker has been an emotional rollercoaster for Liverpool fans, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
