Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their feelings on the news that Daniel Sturridge is set to leave the club in the summer, as Jurgen Klopp opts not to renew the England international’s contract which is set to expire.
According to a report from Paul Joyce of The Times, the 29-year-old will be free to find a new club at the end of the season having made just six starts so far this season, scoring four goals.
Sturridge has understandably failed to dislodge 17-goal Mohamed Salah from the Reds’ starting lineup, and looks to be the second victim in Klopp’s fire sale after the departure of another forward in Dominic Solanke – Divock Origi is another striker who has been made available for transfer.
The former Manchester City and Chelsea man has scored 67 goals in just over 150 appearances at Anfield, and could’ve been a much bigger success on Merseyside were it not for his injury problems…

It’ll be sad to see him leave but it feels like the time is right for him to go. Hope he can stay fit and do well wherever he ends up.
He scored some crackers for us ????
Good luck to him! pic.twitter.com/JwffAudGJ8

i think Klopps had enough of injury prone players now, i can see lallana and matip going too in the summer

Didn’t expect anything else. He can’t be trusted to stay fit and isn’t a bit part player. Needs a run of games and to know he is in the 11 when fit

?Will never forget what he and Suarez did in 2013/14, brilliant season even if we never won the league

Let’s be honest should have happened a while ago, not been up to klopps standards for a couple of years now

Aww shucks. Always a big fan of @DanielSturridge . Class all around. But why all the rumors on a striker? Not like we play with an out and out now. So why not let Brewster have a go? Or something similar. Do we need a high profile (£££) striker?

Best all round we have moved on as a club .his lack of mobility and injuries don’t fit our play he score goals elsewhere as he a great finisher .
