Over the last decade, Brendan Rodgers has come the closest to guiding Liverpool to Premier League glory.

The Northern Irishman was in charge of the Merseyside outfit for three-and-a-half years, and in that time he took them to two points within the English crown, which was scooped up by Manchester City.

Rodgers is now at the helm of Celtic and Jurgen Klopp is in the hotseat at Anfield.

Current Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson had a stellar season for the Reds in the 2017-18 campaign, and in an interview with The Telegraph, Rodgers suggested that the midfielder began to thrive after he became skipper.

Rodgers was responsible for handing the armband over to Henderson following Steven Gerrard's departure in 2015.

Many Liverpool fans have suggested that Rodgers is taking credit for the midfielder's rise, which has caused some to remind him that he tried to sell Henderson to Fulham in 2012.

Last season, Henderson helped Liverpool secure a top-four finish and guided them to the Champions League final, and he is now preparing for the World Cup semi-finals with England.
