Mohamed Salah has finally scored again for Liverpool, ending a 273-minute drought after finding the net for the Merseyside club against Huddersfield.
Salah’s inclusion put to bed any injury concerns, having started at the John Smith’s Stadium on the back of pulling out of Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations squad with a thigh strain.
Luckily for the Reds, the injury proved to just be a strain and not a tear, allowing Jurgen Klopp to call on the services of last season’s top goalscorer without missing any action for his Anfield club.
Klopp’s decision ultimately proved right as the winger scored the only goal of the game, ensuring the German’s side remain joint-top of the league with Manchester City amidst an unbeaten start to the campaign.
The goal was Salah’s fourth in the Premier League, having last netted against Southampton on September 22, and put in a performance worthy of being the man of the match.
Having finally found the net again, Liverpool fans were quick to take to social media and share their delight with the goal from No.11, even if some believed he should have been rested and some thought his performance was not all that great.
Salah scoring is such a relief. Didn’t think he should’ve started, but that goal makes me feel so much better

Scoring while being “awful” is a very good sign. It’s like winning while not playing well. Bad players when they’re “awful” don’t do anything. Salah scores & wind his team the match. Not bad

Didn't play well but it's back to winning ways and a clean sheet. Salah looked much more confident, took his goal well and was dangerous too. When we get that final pass right more often, and I'm sure we will, we'll be scoring 3/4/5 goals a game again. Just got to be patient!

He’s still got 4 goals in 9 games? I’m not sure where the narrative that he’s not a great player has come from, Salah is undeniably class and not scoring in a couple of games doesn’t change that. His stats at this point are actually better than last season too 🤔 https://t.co/TTUsG8Our3

I do not know the secret of Liverpool fans criticism of Salah all the time !!! And they wanted him sitting on the bench !! And even after scoring the goal of winning criticism continues too !! He has the right not to celebrate the goal I think he should leave

Score is only half the story. Defence and Midfield working very hard all season. Attack hasn’t clicked at all yet. Salah scoring again the main thing really. Another 3 points and that’s all that matters #YNWA #HUDLIV
