Liverpool fans split over potential swoop for £30m-rated Maddison

Norwich City midfielder James Maddison could be one of the regular features in the transfer gossip pages this summer judging by the amount of times that he has been linked to Premier League clubs.

The Mirror reports that Liverpool and Manchester City are both keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who is rated by Norwich at around £30m.

This season, the England Under-21 international has impressed by scoring 15 goals, and the publication claims that the Canaries are likely to sell this summer.

Liverpool could be in the market for a new midfielder due to rumours that Emre Can could leave at the end of the season.

According to a recent report in La Gazzetta dello Sport the Germany international has agreed a five-year deal with Juventus ahead of a free transfer this summer.

The majority of Liverpool fans do not seem too concerned about Can’s possible departure as it has been written on the wall for some time.

Attention has now turned to Maddison, whose attributes would fit into Jurgen Klopp’s style of play at Anfield.

Even though £30m for a young Championship player is rather staggering, in this current market, paying over the odds is a regular occurrence.

On Twitter, Liverpool fans gave various responses to the news of the Reds’ rumoured Maddison interest.
