Not many things would be able to wipe the smiles off Liverpool fans’ faces at the moment as their team are in the semi-finals of the Champions League and are closing in on a top-four finish. However, on Thursday when the Merseyside outfit unveiled their new kit for the 2018-19 campaign, one man was missing from the promotional photos.

Star man Mohamed Salah and captain Jordan Henderson modelled the new strip, while Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also got involved.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and Dominic Solanke also struck a pose for the photoshoot, but the likes of Virgil van Dijk, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were nowhere to be seen.

Most notably, though, was the absence of Emre Can, whose future at Anfield has been a major talking point on social media over the last few weeks.

The Germany international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and at the moment, the 24-year-old has not agreed to fresh terms.

Can is expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury, but now the fans are convinced that he will not play another match for the Reds.
