Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade, and they think Daniel Sturridge proved once again why he will be the key to winning trophies this season.
Liverpool shot to the top of their Champions League group on Wednesday courtesy of goals from their electric front three.
Roberto Firmino opened the scoring in the first half, and a Sadio Mane bagged his first goal since the win at Leicester after Mohamed Salah scored a brace.
While it was the usual suspects on the scoresheet, fans are praising the influence of Sturridge, who came on as a second half substitute.

The experienced striker has had to carry some of the goalscoring load while the front three have been misfiring, and he proved once again on Wednesday why he is vital to the squad.
The 29-year-old was only on the pitch for 20 minutes, but he assisted Mane’s goal and could have set up another after his delightful ball to Firmino eventually ended in a Mane miss.

Don't underestimate Sturridge's little cameo there tonight either. Those 15/20 minutes a game all season long will be pivotal to us winning trophies, doing the sort of things he did there.
So made up to have him about and being of effect again.

Sturridge’s cameo was superb last night. Just glided around the pitch, oozing class, creating chances and basically making himself impossible to dispossess. Looks to be really enjoying his football again.

Dan Sturridge there when he came on. Glided around like he was the best player on the pitch. Absolutely brilliant.

Building a damn good squad! Competition for places at CB, CM and Shaq & Studge playing backup to the front 3.

He looked like a new player last night. Amazing!

I don’t think he put a single pass astray – and a great assist also. It’s heartwarming stuff to watch given his injury history – and with every week he’s in the squad THAT becomes less of a topic of discussion.

Totally agree with that, his passing and movement was top notch…
