Liverpool fans will naturally be intrigued by the arrival of Takumi Minamino.

The Japan international has been in red-hot form for RB Salzburg in recent years and has thoroughly justified his transfer to the world champions.

In 199 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg the versatile attacker managed to score 64 goals and provide 44 assists and that record combined with his impressive performances against the Reds in the Champions League have contributed to the fanfare surrounding his arrival.

The midweek clash with Sheffield United saw an ineligible Minamino arrive at Anfield to watch his new side in action from the stands, with Premier League rules preventing him from featuring in the matchday squad.

But his exclusion did not prevent the supporters from welcoming him with open arms as a small welcome banner was presented in the stands prior to kick-off.

It's a touching tribute to the new signing and one that's sure to warm Minamino's heart.

The new number 18 is likely to be in the squad to face Everton this weekend, with Jurgen Klopp revealing he is "thinking about putting him in the squad”, per The Guardian.

And, if he does indeed feature against the Toffees, he could send his popularity into the stratosphere by scoring against Liverpool's Merseyside rivals.

Perhaps a bigger banner will be needed once he finds his feet at his new club.
