It's been a scintillating year for Sadio Mane at Liverpool.

The Senegal international has been a consistently menacing threat on the left side of Liverpool's front three, providing a level of speed, dynamism and ruthlessness that is only matched by an elite handful of players in world football.

His place on the list of Ballon d'Or nominees was thoroughly justified and the fact he finished 4th on the list behind Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo speaks volumes about how highly he is regarded on the international stage.

But, while he may have missed out on the top prize in the Ballon d'Or, he will surely fancy his chances of collecting the African Player of the Year award next month.

The 27-year-old is on the final three-man shortlist alongside Riyad Mahrez and Mo Salah, who has collected the award for the past two years.

Despite the Egyptian's continental dominance in recent years, there are plenty of Liverpool fans who think Mane will pip him on this occasion.

Considering he has already scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in the 2019/20 season alone, there's little argument to be made that he isn't worthy of taking Salah's crown when the result is announced on January 7th.

Can you name the result these iconic Liverpool images belong to? Give it a go now...

Meanwhile, these fans suggested the former Southampton star is a comfortable winner, such is the extent of his brilliance this year.

What a way it would be for Mane to put the gloss on what has already been a phenomenal year in his career.
