Liverpool fans think that Roberto Firmino is being played out of position and that the forward’s poor form is a direct result of the tactical chance from Jurgen Klopp.
For the most part of this season, the German boss has opted to play the Brazil international as a centre-attacking midfielder behind Mohamed Salah, as opposed to as a central striker with the Egyptian on the wing.
Firmino recorded 26 goals and 15 assists last season as a centre-forward, often dropping deep to allow Salah and Sadio Mane to run inside and get on the scoresheet themselves and to some effect – the former scored 43 goals, whilst the latter hit 20.
This season, however, whilst the defence has been much improved, the goals have dried up in comparison to last season. Firmino in particular has just three league goals to his name so far this campaign, and fans think it is down to the tweak in his positioning…
I’ve been saying that for weeks! Put him back where he was last season please #BringOurBobbyBack

What's wrong is we need Shaqiri to play behind the front three as the no10, Bobby does his best work from the front

Klopp playing him as an 8 maybe? Why we don’t play the way that idk got us to a champions league final last year is beyond me

Being played out for position it should be firmino as the 9, salah wide right and shaq as the 10. Issue is klopp doesn’t trust shaq defensively to play the 10 role

We have gone away from what we were good at last season. Why Salah is playing through the middle of beyond me. Put him back on the right where he killed it last season and Bobby back in the middle with shaqiri in behind.

For some reason Klopp wants Salah as the 9 he is always closer to the goal, its a mistake Firmino needs to go back to where he was last season
