Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos was public enemy number one on May 26 when his tussle with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah become a defining moment in the Champions League final.
The Spain international had locked arms with Salah before both hit the deck within the first half an hour of the clash in Kiev.
The Liverpool attacker came off worse as he suffered a dislocated shoulder, which forced him to leave the pitch in tears as the game was goalless.
In the end, Jurgen Klopp’s side lost 3-1, and even though goalkeeper Loris Karius made two costly mistakes, Ramos took the brunt of criticism from disgruntled Liverpool fans.
Since the final, a petition has been doing the rounds online calling for UEFA to take punishment against Ramos for ‘deliberately’ hurting Salah.
According to the London Evening Standard, the form has collected around half a million signatures, but some Liverpool fans think that the furore has gone way too far.
This Salah/Ramos petition is just bloody embarrassing. Things happen in football. Players will do anything to gain a slight advantage. Yes I believe it was intentional in my eyes but again as I said.. things happen in football. #LFC

Sick of the #Ramos attack on #Salah now. As for the petitions and everything else, it's making us, as a club look pethetic. Gutted we lost, gutted #Salah got injured but move on. Ramos isn't going to be banned or fined they've said that. Hopefully we'll get our chance again. #LFC

Anyone whose signed that #Ramos petition, unfollow me
Irrespective of whether it was a foul or not it’s football & this list is cringey! #LFC

What exactly are some #LFC fans trying to achieve still moaning about #Ramos? Making a petition!! Showing videos of Ramos career fouls?? Get over it guys!
Liverpool could have still won without Salah if we hadn't of gifted them 2 goals. Nothing to do with Ramos.
Move on

Just saw tweets about Ramos petition that’s a bit desperate it’s not going to change the result. Let’s not forget we all supported Suarez and let’s be honest what he did was worse than Ramos being a dirty cheat. Perspective Reds fans #LFC

Let karma deal with Ramos! Our boys gave their all and are only human! Onto bigger & better things for the redmen

We lost the game when Salah went off but to blame Ramos is rubbish. It’s a contact sport. Our heads dropped, crowd went quiet & RM reacted. Sure, bad GK mistakes but that’s not why we lost. We were brilliant for 30 mins but it’s a 90 minute game. #YNWA

Think Ramos is a dirty dog of a player, and knew what he was doing… but yes, this petition is cringe worthy
