Mauro Icardi has lost the captaincy at Inter Milan, with goalkeeper Samir Handanovic taking over the striker’s armband, per the club’s official Twitter account.

Icardi has been captain at San Siro since the end of the 2014-15 season.
The eight-cap Argentina international has scored a total of 119 goals in 210 games since his move to Inter and has enjoyed a prolific season in 2018-19, netting 15 times in 28 outings in all competitions.
Icardi, however, has now been stripped of the captaincy.
The striker has just two years remaining on his contract and has not yet committed his future to the club.
Chelsea have been repeatedly linked with a bid for the Icardi, most recently by The Sun in January, while Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG were also said to be interested.
And after news broke of Icardi losing the captaincy, Liverpool fans have urged the club to get involved in the bidding to strengthen their forward line. Here’s a look at what they’ve been saying on Twitter…
