Lyon winger and former Manchester United man Memphis Depay scored a hat-trick for the French club as they qualified for the Champions League with a 3-2 win against Nice on Saturday, and Liverpool fans have urged their club to sign the attacker.

The Dutchman has been in brilliant for the Ligue 1 outfit this term, and his latest treble means that he has ended the season with 22 goals in 51 appearances – mainly from the wing – in all competitions, providing a further 17 assists.

Meanwhile, the Merseyside outfit don't seem to need to do too much tweaking to their frontline this summer, but one player they have been heavily linked with is Depay's teammate Nabil Fekir, who assisted one of the 24-year-old's goals on Saturday.

Liverpool supporters, who also want their club to sign a current Manchester United attacker on Twitter, were quick to have their say on Depay's latest display via social media, and while one said "he'd fit us so much better than Fekir", another said "looking forward to us signing Memphis Depay".
