A number of Liverpool fans have taken to social media to urge head coach Jurgen Klopp to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

The 32-time England international, who has battled back superbly from a serious knee injury, played the latter stages of the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 4.

However, the midfielder was an unused substitute in his team's Premier League opener against new boys Norwich City on Friday, which ended in a 4-1 victory.

The 25-year-old is with the Liverpool squad preparing for Wednesday's clash with Chelsea.

And a number of the club's supporters have urged Klopp to name the former Arsenal youngster in the starting XI.

Naby Keita will seemingly miss out for the Reds through injury, which could potentially open up a midfield spot, but that remains to be seen.
