Emre Can’s Liverpool future has been a regular talking point due to the midfielder’s current contract situation.
The Germany international comes to the end of his deal this summer and there has not been any official word from the club that he will sign fresh terms.
In fact, the rumour mill seems to suggest quite the opposite, with Don Balon reporting earlier this month that Real Madrid as well as Juventus are interested in potentially signing Can.
The 24-year-old has been a regular feature in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool squad having started 24 Premier League matches and has come off the bench in a further two.
Can has also played in seven Champions League matches, and in total has scored four goals and created four assists in all competitions.
At times this season, Liverpool fans have made it clear on social media that they want the midfielder to stay.
However, his latest comments have changed the opinion of some of those supporters.
While speaking to Suddeutsche Zeitung, Can said:
“Sure, the Bundesliga would interest me, why not? Although I must say honestly that the level has waned in recent years. The Premier League has the power to spend more money on players than the Bundesliga . This is very, very important for players. I have the self-confidence to say that my qualities are sufficient to play in a very big club next season.”
Emre Can should worry about being a very big player for the club he is playing for now, rather than talking about how he will move to a very big club. #LFC

I will laugh my head off if Emre Can leaves us for City or Bayern or someone and spends most of his time sat on the bench after those comments about playing regularly. #LFC

Once it was clear Emre Can was not going to sign a new contract he should never have played for us again, but not only did he play almost every game but he also captained a few. If a player is not committed to us we should not be committed to them. #LFC

Emre Can had no business being disrespectful to the club with those comments. The door is open, he can leave. #LFC

Can needs to take his head out of his own arse and realise these top teams will only be in because they see a squad player on a free, cant even cement a spot in a midfield where you have the likes of hendo, wij and milner and hes talking like a world beater #lfc

We let Coutinho go this year, seen Gerrard retire, El Niño and Saurez desert us and the owners give away Alonso and Mascherano. They all had more quality in their little toes. #LFC

Unless his quotes are taken out of context I've lost respect for Can here.

Emre can can leave
It’s not a big loss for us
He may have an outstanding performance in him but he loses the ball in dangerous position too often
Till the time we buy an out an out cdm he maybe our best option at number 6 position but he in no way is irreplaceable #LFC
