Liverpool fans want Gerrard to replace Buvac as Klopp number two

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be without his right-hand man Zeljko Buvac for the rest of the season.

The Liverpool Echo reports that the assistant coach is on a leave of absence, but has not quit his role at the club.

The Daily Record, however, suggests that Buvac has left for good following a dispute with Klopp.

The pair formed a friendship while at Mainz during their playing days, and since then, Klopp has had the tactician alongside him in the dugout at every club that he has coached.

The news has stunned Liverpool fans, with many worried that the team will suffer as a result.

It could not have occurred at a worse time for the Merseyside outfit as they prepare to take on Roma in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Reds hold a 5-2 lead following a scintillating display at Anfield, and supporters will be hoping that this latest news does not distract the team from the matter at hand.

Many have also been deliberating over who should become Klopp’s new right-hand man, and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who won eight trophies during his time at the club, has been tipped by the club’s following.

However, judging by a report from ESPN, the retired midfielder is in fresh talks with Rangers over becoming the club’s new manager.
