Liverpool fans have called for captain Jordan Henderson to be dropped from the first team after a disappointing individual performance against Chelsea on Saturday that saw Jurgen Klopp’s men rescue a point after a late Daniel Sturridge goal.
Henderson has been criticised for not stepping up in what was a big match for both sides with the fans rather wanting to see Naby Keita start instead of the England international. The 28-year-old started the match in a central midfield position alongside James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Many of the supporters however feel that the team started to perform better when Keita replaced the skipper in the 78th minute of the match. Chelsea looked to be winning the midfield battle that would steer them to victory after Eden Hazard gave the Blues the lead in the first half, but Sturridge’s outrageous goal meant the spoils were shared as both sides remain undefeated in the Premier League.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions following Saturday’s match:
15 minutes Keita on the pitch is much much better than 75 minutes Henderson. That's a fact!

Great tactical game but Henderson not good enough for games like this.

Play Keita instead of Henderson
Henderson dont have legs to run forward like Chelsea midfield
Kovaic & even Kante run foward and played most foward passes cutting through our midfield
Hendo is good player but not suit for style of play & he can play against deep setup teams
