Loads of Liverpool fans on Twitter have urged their club to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves following his latest spectacular strike on Monday night.

The Portuguese star has become renowned for his ability to find the net from outside the penalty area, and he produced a bit of magic at Molineux to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw for his side against Manchester United.

Anthony Martial had given the visitors the lead, before the 22-year-old's brilliant swerving effort hit the underside of the crossbar on its way in – although there was a wait for VAR before the goal was confirmed and the celebrations could continue.

Liverpool certainly have plenty of midfield options right now with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner and Adam Lallana, but with the latter two getting no younger and with their contracts winding down, perhaps a new central player could be on the cards sooner rather than later.

It appears as though many Reds supporters would like to see Neves arrive at Anfield, with one describing him as "Alonso 2.0", and another saying "I'd pay £80m for him".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction...
