Liverpool supporters will be celebrating long into the summer after a wonderful UEFA Champions League triumph on Saturday night.

The 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur may not have been the prettiest spectacle of the season, but Jurgen Klopp's side proved they had more of a winning desire than Spurs and fully deserved their 6th European title after a tremendous run in the competition.

Much of the praise for the Reds coming out of the match was for their defensive line, with players such as Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip winning plaudits for their performances.

Matip was for some the top performer, busy throughout the 90 minutes and keeping Spurs' star talents very quiet indeed.

The Cameroon international made 14 defensive clearances, won all three of his defensive aerial battles and even provided the assist for Divock Origi to score the second goal of the match.
