Liverpool fans wonder how much new signings will affect Oxlade-Chamberlain’s game time

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took time to find his feet when he arrived at Liverpool from Arsenal last summer.

Once he did, though, he was a regular feature on the teamsheet – showing the zest and eye for goal that was lacking in the closing stages of his career at the Emirates.

The midfielder, who is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, made 42 appearances in all competitions before getting struck down with a serious injury.

During the first leg of Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final victory over Roma, Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a knee injury that ended his season and chances of making England’s World Cup squad.

Georginio Wijnaldum stepped in and managed to keep things ticking during his teammate’s absence.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain faces a fight to get back into the first XI following the arrival of new signings and potential fresh faces.

Naby Keita will move to Anfield from RB Leipzig this summer, while the Liverpool Echo claims that Nabil Fekir is on the verge of joining from Lyon.

Both of these midfielders are fairly versatile, so Oxlade-Chamberlain’s role could be safe, but it has led some Reds fans to question it on social media.
