Liverpool fans wonder whether Fekir pursuit will reignite in January

Liverpool had a successful summer transfer window, but there was one player who dominated the social media realm – Nabil Fekir.

The Lyon playmaker was thought to be on the verge of moving to Anfield earlier in the summer, but the transfer fell apart.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, a previous knee injury suffered by the player caused some concern for the Reds.

In the end, the Premier League outfit pulled out of a deal and by the looks of it, did not revive their interest.

At one point, Chelsea were linked with a late swoop for the France World Cup winner, but according to reporter Francois Piraux, the midfielder turned them down.

Judging by that update, Fekir – valued at £54m by Transfermarkt – had his heart set on joining Liverpool, but now that the transfer window in England has closed, he will not get his wish.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has not indicated whether the club will try to sign the 25-year-old in the future, but that has not stopped the fans from wondering.
