Jordan Henderson has been a divided figure among the Liverpool fanbase for the majority of his career at Anfield.

This season has been a difficult one for the club captain as he has had to fight for a spot in Jurgen Klopp's XI.

The midfielder had an impressive campaign for club and country in 2017/18, but since the new season began, he has only started eight matches in all competitions for Liverpool.

With the summer additions of Fabinho, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is still unsure about what his best midfield is.

On Wednesday night against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, the German coach selected Henderson in the centre of the park alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner, but as a result there was a lack of creativity.

Unsurprisingly, Henderson took the brunt of the criticism after the team's 2-1 defeat at Parc des Princes, which means that their progression into the last 16 is dependent on their final group match against Napoli.
