As reported by The Sun, Liverpool are hoping to sign legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon this summer after he played his last game for Juventus this weekend.
The Italian shot-stopper is one of the most recognisable figures in world football and after a career spanning over 900 games for club and county, he is set to embark on a new adventure after leaving Juve.
At 40 years of age, he’s not exactly a signing with a long-term upside, but that isn’t stopping supporters hoping they’ll see him at Anfield next season.
Many believe he could be the perfect teacher to Loris Karius, who is still on a road of development towards becoming an elite goalkeeper.
It’s certainly a move that would steal the headlines this summer and be box-office for the Reds.
Should they make their move and bring him to English football for the first time?
Supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
#LFC Buffon indeed will be a wonderful signing. There's plenty Karius can learn from him. Migs is such an awful role model.

Buffon leaving not retiring, would love him at Liverpool!

Lots of links with Buffon to Liverpool I think it’s a short term solution adds great experience but don’t think he has many years left at the top but on a free transfer would be worth it for what Karius will learn from him over the year or two he competes with him

Gianluigi Buffon to Liverpool? I would LOVE that! But, it's just a rumor. I mean we can do with that extra quality in that area.
