Liverpool have secured first option on highly rated Birmingham teenager Demarai Gray, according to the Metro.
The 19-year old is one of the most sought after youngsters outside the top flight thanks to a series of impressive performances at St. Andrews over recent seasons.
An England Under-20 international, the wide man has been linked with a host of other top clubs such as Southampton, Arsenal and Tottenham already in his short career.
He was the subject of a prolonged chase by Premier League new boys Bournemouth over the summer, though ultimately signed a new three-year deal in July.
However, emerging reports suggest that the Reds have an agreement in place with Birmingham which means they are allowed to speak to the player first, even if another team tables an acceptable bid.
The Reds are currently lacking in natural wide options since the departures of both Raheem Sterling and Lazar Markovic in the summer, leaving only Jordon Ibe as a recognised winger at Anfield.
