Gary Neville’s tweets on Liverpool hilariously backfire

Liverpool avoided a massive scare on Monday evening as they came from behind to defeat West Ham at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are now just four wins from securing that elusive Premier League title.

The game was broadcast live on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show and former Manchester United defender Gary Neville took great delight in his old foes losing.

He tweeted this video with the game at 2-1 to the Hammers…

But that was a tad premature as within 15 minutes, Mo Salah had found the net to equalise, leaving the presenter with egg on his face – and it wasn’t ending there…

Liverpool completed the turnaround with Sadio Mane’s 81st-minute winner extending their unbeaten run in the top-flight to a 27th game.

Neville’s comments had hilariously backfired, and he knew it too as he tweeted once again…

It’s safe to say that his co-pundit and ex-nemesis Jamie Carragher had the last laugh as Liverpool look even more likely to clinch their maiden Premier League title – if that was even possible.

Four more wins. Maybe Neville will think twice about speaking prematurely in the future, especially when it comes to the red side of Manchester and the red side of Merseyside.
