Liverpool given green light to move for £22.5m midfield star

Dennis Praet’s agent has fuelled speculation that the young Belgian will leave Anderlecht soon amid interest from Liverpool.

The Reds have already been active in the transfer market this month, pulling off moves for Marko Grujic and Steven Caulker, but reports have also aligned them with the 21-year-old playmaker.

Praet has long been hailed as one of the Jupiler League’s top talents – he has notched 23 goals in 154 appearances for his current side – and many have speculated that it’s a matter of time before he moves to a more established division.

And his agent, Jacques Lichtenstein, told Voetbal International (via Metro) that his client may well be on the move soon:

“What can he gain by spending one more season at Anderlecht?

“He has already played for three years and has contributed to three back-to-back league titles.”

Praet, valued at £22.5m, has been capped at every youth level for Belgium and made his senior debut for the No.1 ranked national side in FIFA standings in 2014.

Should he move to Anfield the youngster would link up with compatriots Christian Benteke, Divock Origi and Simon Mignolet.
