Liverpool have put offer on the table for 27-goals-this-season striker

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is considering a number of offers for his signature ahead of the summer, including one from Liverpool, according to reports from Fichajes.

The Argentina international is thought to be pondering his future after being labelled “fat” by the Naples club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea also having put proposals forward.

Higuain himself has been in electric form this season, smashing 25 goals in Serie A action – the joint highest return, alongside Luis Suarez, in any of Europe’s top five leagues – as well as a further two in the Europa League.

And amid widespread claims that Liverpool are plotting a summer overhaul after League Cup Final defeat at the hands of Manchester City, reports claim that they have put an offer forward for the deadly marksman.

Although the Merseysiders are likely to be able to offer him a lucrative salary to become a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, a lack of Champions League football may count against them.
