Liverpool hit with transfer snag over duo

Brendan Rodgers - Liverpool managerLiverpool may be priced out of moves for two of their transfer targets this weekend, according to MirrorFootball.

Sporting Lisbon are rating 20-year-old centre back Tigao Ilori at £17million, despite the Portuguese U20 player entering the final year of his contract, with Reds chiefs only prepared to may around £6million and are aware Ilori is refusing to sign a new contract at Sporting.

And Paris Saint-Germain are trying to hold out for around £13million for 23-year-old defender Mamoud Sakho, despite the France international also running in to the final year of his Parc de Princes contract.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to reinforce his defence after new arrivals Kolo Toure and Aly Cissokho both suffered injuries in their mid-week Capital One Cup win over Notts County, while Sebastien Coates remains crocked.

Martin Skrtel is just returning from his own injury problems but Rodgers remains short of strength in depth at the back and is eager to overcome the current negotiation problems Sporting Lisbon and PSG are causing the Anfield club.

Meanwhile, Rodgers is hoping he can bring in Chelsea’s Victor Moses before the transfer window closes on Monday evening and is believed to have placed a loan bid worth around £2million to secure the Nigerian international.
