Liverpool are moving closer to a summer swoop for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kevin Gameiro, who is unhappy at the Ligue 1 club.

Brendan Rodgers is currently looking for players to boost his strike force as Fabio Borini continues to disappoint and there are rumours that Luis Suarez could possibly leave the club. The Reds boss has been a fan of Gameiro for a while and has had his scouts watching the PSG hotshot over the past few months, according to The Daily Mail

Since the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahamovic at PSG, Gameiro's playing time has dramatically decreased and he is frustrated that he isn't able to get regular first team football, expressing his fury at being left on the bench again last week.

"I want to play football every time, I am no different to any player," the French international said.

"It is difficult to sit on the bench but all big clubs in Europe have the same problems, you can’t play every game but being involved is good.

"I always wanted to play abroad. At the end of the season, hopefully after we win the title, we can decide about my future."

Rodgers tried to sign the striker in the January transfer window and it is thought that he could renew his interest in the forward this summer as he looks for someone to challenge Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
