Yesterday, FIFA officially announced all the candidates for their “Best” awards.
And Liverpool have quite a few nominees across the board and in multiple categories.
Jurgen Klopp was named among the candidates who have the chance to be crowned the best coach in the world.
The German has made a shortlist of ten coaches – which includes the likes of Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Didier Deschamps – who are up for the award.
Ian Rush, Liverpool icon and ex-player, has taken to Instagram to share a snap with Klopp, congratulating him on the nomination and sending a brilliant message along the way.
Interestingly enough, Klopp has been named the best German coach of the year despite the fact he doesn’t work in his homeland.
Apart from that he also won the Champions League with Liverpool and finished second behind Manchester City in the tight Premier League race that raged on until the very last game of 2018/19 season.
With such a resume, his inclusion on the shortlist is not really a surprise.
