Liverpool in serious talks over summer deal for world-class Klopp favourite – expert

Liverpool are deep in negotiations with Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze as Jurgen Klopp eyes a reunion with the playmaker at Anfield, according to Spanish journalist, Kike Marin.

The Germany international rose to prominence under the now Reds coach while the pair were together at Borussia Dortmund, winning two Bundesliga titles before reaching the Champions League Final in 2013.

However, Gotze left shortly after this to sign for Bayern, where, despite winning numerous team honours – as well as the 2014 World Cup – he’s struggled to make a serious impact.

Indeed, reports have claimed that he’s so frustrated with his situation that a £20m move to Liverpool to revive his career under Klopp appeals to the 23-year-old, and now Marin has claimed that negotiations are under way between the player and the Merseyside club, and that they’re at an advanced stage.

He tweeted: that “negotiations” are taking place, and when quizzed by a fan on whether they are “advanced” and if he’ll ‘sign’ for the club or not, he replied “yeah”:

Gotze can operate in any attacking midfield role, and has been lauded for his neat dribbling skills and incisive passing.
