Liverpool are favourites to win the race for highly-rated Ipswich Town starlet Teddy Bishop, according to MirrorFootball.
The 18-year-old midfielder has become something of a Championship sensation after breaking in to Mick McCarthy’s side this season.
And the quality of his 18 performances so far this term have put him on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
But MirrorFootball are reporting that Brendan Rodgers is in pole position to sign the youngster and are trying hard to get a deal done, although Ipswich have told them that his is not for sale this month.
The Tractor Boys are currently 2nd in the Championship after an impressive run of results, and are now seeing some of their best performers being linked with moves away from Portman Road this month.
That includes increased interest from Arsenal for defender Tyrone Mings, with Ipswich now bracing themselves for bids at the end of this season.
