While Roberto Firmino’s teammates are already knee-deep in their preparations for the upcoming 2019/20 Premier League season, the enigmatic forward is still enjoying his extended holiday.
It is very much deserved after the Brazilian helped his country clinch the Copa America trophy – he netted two goals and three assists in a total of six games, forming quite the partnership alongside Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
But as his holidays are slowly but surely coming to an end, the Anfield cult hero is clearly missing Merseyside, sharing a throwback photo of last season’s Champions League win over Porto.
And sure enough, it quickly got the attention of some other stars and footballing names. Ian Rush was among the first ones to the scene, replying with YNWA as well, paying tribute to the Liverpool motto.
But it was Bruno Alves who paid the ultimate compliment to the Brazilian, calling him a “monster” on the pitch. Firmino is often considered underrated by fans and the media, but his fellow professionals clearly appreciate exactly what he does in the Liverpool shirt.
