Graeme Souness is no stranger to controversial actions. The former Liverpool midfield general was, after all, the man who infamously slammed a flag into the middle of Fenerbahce’s pitch as Galatasaray manager. Madness.
And last night he had another funny few minutes as he predicted that his old side would get something out of their Champions League clash with Real Madrid. Although the first 20 minutes were encouraging for the Reds, Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener effectively ended the game, before Karim Benzema added two in a match which could have ended as embarrassingly as Roma’s 7-1 loss at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
Oh dear, Greame. Oh dear!
