Liverpool legend returns for training duty but nothing more

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was back in training with the first-team during the MLS off season, report the Daily Mail.

The former Reds captain was put through his paces by manager Jurgen Klopp has he looks to maintain his fitness during the break in America.

However, Klopp has previously strongly denied the fact the Merseyside legend is in for an emotional loan return to Anfield.

Despite this, it was a welcome sight for Reds fans around the world to see the LA Galaxy midfielder once again running through drills at the club’s Melwood base.

The 35-year old ended his 17-year association with the club earlier this summer and moved stateside at the expiration of his contract.

Since then, the Anfield outfit have had a change in management as former boss Brendan Rodgers was axed in October and former Borussia Dortmund coach Klopp arrived.

Over recent weeks, they have suffered a slump in form that has seen them go without a win in their last four games following on from famous wins over Chelsea and Manchester City.
