Liverpool lining up Real Madrid star to replace struggling keeper

As reported by The Daily Star, Liverpool are working to finalise a summer deal for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The turbulent form of current Reds No.1 Simon Mignolet has been a major talking point at Anfield this season, with the Belgium international recently dropped for ‘an indefinite period‘ after a string of costly errors. He’s been reinstated in recent weeks, but only due to an injury keeping understudy Brad Jones on the sidelines.

It’s believed the Anfield outfit are looking for long-term solutions, and the Los Blancos deputy is now mooted as one of them. He moved to the Bernabeu in the summer in a €10million deal after a string of strong displays for Costa Rica at the World Cup.

Making just seven appearances in all competitions since then however, his agent Ricardo Cabanas has revealed that the 28-year-old has plans to move on, telling the press; “Keylor Navas has told Real Madrid that wants to leave,” as quoted in the aforementioned Daily Star piece.

The Star also make the claim that Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan of Navas’, but it’s unlikely the Premier League outfit will be the only club touting for his services this summer.
