Liverpool linked with risky £11.1m move to ease goalscoring concerns

Liverpool are once again looking at Alexandre Pato as they plot to ease their goalscoring problems, according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Reds have been aligned with the former Brazil international for much of the past few months, with suggestions having circulated back in November that a deal was all but agreed to take him from Corinthians to Anfield.

It has, however, since become apparent that these were wide of the mark and a number of sources have gone as far as to suggest that a move of any sort is not on the club’s agenda.

However, fresh reports from TMW claim that Liverpool are indeed in the hunt for ‘The Duck’, with an £11.1m fee mooted.

Jurgen Klopp’s side’s goalscoring woes are well known, with the German’s side having notched just 22 goals in Premier League action this term – the lowest in the division’s top nine.

Although Pato’s initial career in Europe with AC Milan was cut short by injury problems, he’s remained fit in his homeland, netting 38 goals over the last two seasons while on loan at Sao Paulo.

Despite the fact he remains just 26, Corinthians are known to be looking to offload him with a move back across the Atlantic Ocean being mooted.
