After starring in Crystal Palace ’s League Cup heroics at Old Trafford, Wilfried Zaha will be the subject of a £5m January bid from Liverpool , reports the Daily Mail. The 19 year-old forward played a key role in Palace’s extra-time win over Manchester United on Wednesday night, a performance watched by scouts from a string of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

Kenny Dalglish has followed the progress made by Zaha since he broke into the Palace first-team at the start of last season and his latest dazzling display is proof he is ready to mix-it with the big-boys. Reports suggest that the Red’s boss will make a £5m bid in January for the teen sensation, which would eventually rise to £8m.

Zaha certainly fits the transfer ethos Dalglish seems to have adopted of investing in promising young British players. The England Youth international, who was born in the Ivory Coast, isn’t short of Premier League admirers though so King Kenny would have to act quickly to snap him up.

Zaha can play on the wing or as a forward, and his performances last season saw him win the Eagles' Young Player Of The Year Award. Although still a raw talent, Zaha’s flair, creativity and direct style could add another dimension to Liverpool’s attack as Dalglish looks to strengthen his options.
