Liverpool are preparing a last minute transfer bid for Manchester United target Roberto Firmino, The Mirror has reported.
The Brazilian star has revealed that he will be in the Premier League next season, with Manchester United currently the front runners, but Brendan Rodgers is also interested.
The Liverpool boss has been keeping a close tab on the Hoffenheim star and is now set to make his interest formal, attempting to outbid their old rivals.
With Steven Gerrard departing for MLS, they are keen to replace him with an attacking midfielder and Firmino fits the bill perfectly.
The 23 year old was in fine form for the Bundesliga outfit last term, contributing an impressive 10 goals and 12 assists to their season which saw them end in a respectable eighth position.
Firmino made his debut for the Brazilian national team last year and has made 8 appearances since, as well as making the Copa America squad.
