Liverpool looking to thrash out flop deal this evening

Liverpool and Fiorentina officials are set to meet in London this evening to discuss a deal for flop forward Fabio Borini, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The one-cap Italy international endured a miserable 2014/15 campaign on Merseyside after rejecting moves to Sunderland and QPR last year in a bid to battle for his Anfield future.

However, Borini made only a handful of appearances, scoring once in the Premier League – he was also sent off against Arsenal.

And with the likes of Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Christian Benteke now at Liverpool, his future appears bleak, and reports claim that a move to Fiorentina is a genuine possibility.

La Viola representatives are said to be in England as their side take on Chelsea in a pre-season clash, and will sit down with their Kop counterparts to attempt to reach an agreement.

Borini himself is eager to leave Liverpool, with his agent having described his client as being like a “lion in a cage” at the club.
