Liverpool looking to trigger problem-solving star’s release clause

Liverpool are working on a deal for Malaga defensive midfielder Ignacio Camacho and are ready to trigger the £10m release clause in his contract, according to reports from the Mirror.

The Reds look set for a massive summer of transfer activity, with the looming off-season set to be Jurgen Klopp’s first while at the helm of the club.

Having already been promised an ‘ambitious’ squad for the 2016/17 campaign, it appears likely that, with only Marko Grujic signed permanently during the German’s tenure thus far, players will be heading to Merseyside, and reports claim that Camacho may be one of the first.

It’s understood that Liverpool are so keen to sign the 25-year-old that they’re weighing up activating the £10m release clause in his Malaga contract, but they may have to move quickly as the Spaniard’s are keen to tie their man down to a new deal.

Camacho is know for his discipline in the defensive midfield role and would be a welcome addition at Anfield with Klopp’s only genuine holding option Lucas Leiva, who has struggled with injury set-backs in recent seasons.
