The Reds signed the attacking midfielder from Sporting Lisbon’s academy in January 2012 at a cost of £830k, at which point he was hailed as ‘the new Deco’.
The 23-year-old went on to register eight senior appearances across all competitions for the Merseyside club, including a Premier League outing last season, and claimed the club’s Young Player of the Year award in 2015.
